Do we really want to be guinea pigs?
Here are just a few of the side effects caused by pesticides.
Which are used on most everything we eat.
The chemical runoff into our water supply is outrageous too.
But who needs water anyway? =D

PESTICIDE INDUSTRY ROCKED BY THREE RECENT ALARMING STUDIES

This month's issue of the journal Occupational and Environmental Medicine reports a new study showing pregnant women and children exposed to pesticides and insect sprays run double the risk of developing childhood leukemia. Researchers carried out detailed interviews with 280 mothers of children with acute leukemia and found disturbing connections between fungicides/insecticides and leukemia. Describing the results as "significant", the authors said that preventive action should be considered to reduce health risks to children.

A new study in the January 2006 issue of the journal Epidemiology. has found that a that a pesticide byproduct found in the blood of 90% of U.S. men could be causing male sterility or other adverse effects in men. Researchers with the University of Michigan, Harvard University and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention took urine samples from 268 males undergoing treatment for low sperm counts. Researchers measured by-products of a pesticide, chlorpyrifos, and found that men with the lowest testosterone levels also had the most pesticide by-product in their systems. http://www.organicconsumers.org/toxic/testosterone011706.cfm
----------------
Scientists at UC Berkeley conducted a study published in this week's issue of the scientific journal Environmental Health Perspectives wherein they found extremely low levels of pesticides kill frogs. The bulk of safety research is typically done on individual pesticides, but this study created a low level mix of pesticides comparable to what frogs would experience near an average farm in the Midwest and found that it killed 35% of the frogs in the study. "Given these adverse effects and the continued increase and use of pesticides in agriculture over the past 50 years, it is likely that pesticides have played and will continue to play a role in amphibian declines," wrote the study's authors. And of course humans are ingesting these same toxic pesticides in non-organic food and in their drinking water. http://www.organicconsumers.org/toxic/062501.cfm

You never know!
I like BIOTA when I drink bottled water.
Colorado spring H20 and the container is made from a corn base that is biodegadable.
No chemicals from plastics in the water and they won’t fill up the landfill.
BTW Matthew, you look like a dog.
Don’t you drink out of the toilet?

Hey!! That’s a chihuahua you’re talking about…. I can’t even reach the toilet!
I love that idea of the corn-based biodegradable container.
David, I’m really glad you are a top-level zaadzster, and I hope you have a HUGE influence in changing the world, man!

Honored to associate with you,
Matthew

hey, if anyone is interested these are from the organic consumers  association newsletter which is a biweekly email newsletter that is just phenomenal.  I highly recommend checking it out for a couple weeks.  you can sign up here (look right to the left):

The newsletter almost always has actions that you can take to actually be a part of changing stuff like this.  I would also recommend kicking them a few bucks and becoming a member.  A lot of their power to lobby and change things is based on their membership numbers.  Ditto for NRDC which has done amazing things to protect the environment.

thanks for the info!
not only pesticides but all the female hormones from birth control that are screwing with the frogs, fish and mammals too…

so a few helpful hints, since fighting it all, and hell there is so much to ‘fight’ ,sometimes seems like a losing battle:

boost your immunity; love raises our immunity, fear lowers it..i hear love has positive effects on the thymus…

…also don’t let the organ of detox, the liver (which is also greatly responsible for female homone control and estrogen elimination) drag you down…clean your liver and digestive system at least once a year.

Hey Dave,
What does permalink mean?

I’ll second the permalink question. Would love your input to better understand.

David, thanks for the link to the leaukemia study. It will come in very handy. I can vouch first hand for that one. Tis true, unfortunately. When I was little my Mom was a clean freak and HATED bugs. The space under our kitchen sink was filled with Mr Clean, Ajax, Combat, Tidy Bowl, to mention just a few,….. should have been deemed a hazzard zone. To top it off, the guy in the big mouse car  would come spray the hell out of our house once a week. Then when my little brother was two, he contracted leukemia and my parents were at a loss as to what might have happened. Fortunately he survived, but not without some serious brain damage from the chemo. They still live a similar lifestyle and can’t figure out why their dogs keep contracting cancer, one after another…. even though I practically beat it into their head. Some habits and beliefs die hard…. really hard.

Thanks to all for the links to further educate and the ideas to remain proactive. Amazing article Robin, certainly one for the non-believers!

Matthew…funny synchronicity about the Zaadz water thing…. I was just mentioning the same thing in the ideas forum a few days ago. Maybe the time has come? We know how thoughts effect water thanks to Dr. Emoto so what if the water were infused and labled with powerful thoughts or quotes? ie: unconditional love, Know Thyself, etc. Packaged in eco friendly bottles of course. Proceeds could support Zaadz growth and the water could be give to those in need. Oh the possibilities!

OK “permalink”.
It’s basically a way to share blogs, comments, emails, etc.
For example. If you want to tell someone about a specific comment on a blog, you just grab the permalink and give them that. So, just right click “permalink” and pick from the options to share the URL.
I hope that helps. Let me know.

Shelly,
I am sorry to hear about your brother. Thanks for sharing with us. It hits even harder when you hear first hand experience. I just can’t believe how few people put these things together. I guess we’ll just have to keep spreading the word.

And what a great idea about the water.
1. Pure Water
2. No chemicals leeching into it
3. It’s biodegradable (Oh BTW, did I mention it’s clean burning too. “Energy?”)
4. Positive energy radiating through the water (infused quotes)
5. Supporting those in need
6. Supporting a communtiy that’s changing the world
7. “Oh the possibilities”

I think you guys may be on to something here

Thanks David for your consolation. It is appreciated. Truth is, I believe in the bigger scale of things, my little bro chose to come here and be a messenger. I know he has been a HUGE inspiration for what I do in the world. He is a major light source for me. I’ve come to realize that these “special folks”, the disabled, the autistic, the “retarded”, etc. are really the “Spiritually Gifted”. They SO understand the meaning of unconditional love. Darrell doesn’t have a bone of judgement in his body. We walk through a room and he wants to say “hi” to everyone. It is pure love in action. I should be so fortunate to progress that far in this lifetime.

I commit to further brainstorming on the “Zaadz Water” . When it is time it will happen easily. Ultimately, it is Brians call since it is his gig. It would go nicely with the “powered by Zaadz” athletic wear…. for the gym, sports, etc. Too bad Lance isn’t racing anymore. We could get him to drink and wear Zaadz at the Tour. :-)
